Using the Chemex carafe, this is the only filter to use. Stronger and better filter than the cones Melita and others make. Great coffee every time.
Still working on water pouring technique (Slow Down). Coffee brewing is now a ritual: Boil water, grind beans, slowly pour water over the grinds. Takes a few minutes but the coffee is excellent. but I am getting more consistent. Regulare coffee filters do not work for the Chemex pot, even doubled-up.
I love the coffee pot but the filters are way out of line (price wise) I'm looking for a replacement
Since I am essentially a tree-hugger, I went for the "unbleached, oxygen cleaned, paper filter". It is probably no friendlier to the environment or cleaner than any other paper filter on the market, but it gives me a good tasting coffee and what-the-hey, I bought the program. It works and it fits the Chemex 8 Cup Coffee Maker, so I am happy. Not much more to be said for a coffee filter.
This also works well when not using the Chemex cups (i.e., when using a plain pitcher to make coffee).
